Dear BC Almanac

I am disgusted by the hypocrisy of people who are outraged by the sled dog cull, since everyone who eats meat and dairy from factory farms consents to the unimaginable pain and suffering of animals every day.  Not that I think the sled dogs should have been killed, but at least the sled dogs led stimulating lives before they were culled, whereas animals confined to concentrated feed lots and other factory farm scenarios suffer for their entire lives.  I think people who are outraged about the sled dog massacre need to take a hard look at how their consumption patterns support the daily suffering and massacre of equally sentient animals in the factory farm system.  Thank you.
