For Jim Chu, VPD Commissioner – Why is it legal?

November 23, 2011 § Leave a comment

Dear Mr Chu,
I was driving the other day through our lovely city around dusk and found myself headed east on the Georgia viaduct. Despite the nice skies I became distracted by a butt-ugly, full-colour, lit-up advertisement for aspartame soda. Why is it legal for this horribly ugly advertisement to be constructed there obstructing peoples’ view of the sky? It is not legal for a person to spraypaint a wall, so why is it legal for a corporation to construct this massive advertisement?
Please do let me know as soon as possible, and if it turns out that the giant advertisement is not actually legally placed please do have it removed as soon as possible. Thanks very much.

Your friend,
G
